Currys is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership with the British Red Cross Disaster Fund for a second consecutive year.
The Disaster Fund enables the British Red Cross to deliver rapid and effective humanitarian aid to people affected by crises around the world, including conflict, natural disasters, extreme weather and climate emergencies.
Between January and June 2025, the Disaster Fund supported over 66 emergency operations in 51 countries, reaching 9 million people affected by crises ranging from the earthquake in Myanmar to the food crisis in Sudan. In the UK, teams provided door-to-door support during severe storms, helping 1,696 people with essentials, emotional care, and recovery assistance. The Fund ensures help reaches those impacted by both high-profile crises and those that receive little media attention.
Moira Thomas, Group Sustainability & ESG Director, Currys:
“The incredible impact of the British Red Cross Disaster Fund on communities in crisis is truly commendable. Thanks to their efforts, millions of people in over a hundred countries received essential aid last year — helping them respond to, recover from, and prepare for emergencies. That’s why we’re so proud to continue our support into 2025.”
James Jackson, Head of Corporate Partnerships at the British Red Cross:
“We’re incredibly grateful to have Currys supporting our Disaster Fund. In times of crisis, the British Red Cross is there to help those in need — and with partners like Currys, we truly stand together as the world’s emergency responders. On behalf of the British Red Cross and everyone whose lives have been touched by your generosity, thank you for your invaluable support.”
