• iD Mobile to launch a variety of initiatives in February to help support its most vulnerable customers during the pandemic
  • Unlimited calls, texts and data scheme for NHS workers
  • Unlimited minutes scheme for customers aged over 70
  • Working with the Government to offer unlimited data to disadvantaged children learning from home
  • Free-rated data access to official NHS Test & Trace apps

Today, iD Mobile announces a variety of new and re-established Covid-19 initiatives to help vulnerable customers and NHS workers during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, set to go live in February.

With the nation’s parents facing homeschooling set-ups over the coming months, iD Mobile will be stepping in to help families manage with increased internet and mobile data usage, and their associated costs. The network provider is working with the Government to offer unlimited data to disadvantaged children struggling to get connected with their school and access their e-learning. The scheme will run from February until 31st June 2021.

In addition, to show their gratitude and appreciation for their ongoing service, iD Mobile will also re-introduce its scheme for NHS workers – offering unlimited data, calls and texts for NHS staff until 30th April 2021. NHS workers can and register with their NHS email address and iD Mobile number to qualify. NHS workers who previously registered for this offer with iD Mobile in 2020 and remain on the network will have the offer automatically added.

For customers over the age of 70, iD Mobile will also be assisting those who might be feeling isolated in the ongoing lockdown period. The network provider is offering unlimited minutes to customers aged 70 and over, who can benefit from the scheme until 30th April 2021.

And finally, a host of official Covid-19 apps have already been free rated by iD Mobile to ensure the safety of its customers. These include the ‘NHS COVID-19‘ app for customers in England and Wales, as well as the ‘HSC StopCOVID NI’ app for customers in Northern Ireland.

Lewis Henry, Head of Customer and Marketing at iD Mobile, said: “The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has been a struggle for so many people across the UK, especially for those most vulnerable – children and the elderly. The uncertainty of the ongoing lockdown period has presented financial and mental strains for so many of us, so to be able to ease some of that burden for our customers was something everyone at iD was behind.

We’re proud to be lending a helping hand to those who need it most; from families bearing the burden of homeschooling and keeping children entertained, to over-70s who are isolated and looking to connect with their loved ones. We hope that these initiatives help to assist in easing these stresses and help our customers feel supported throughout the coming months.”

To find out more, customers should consult the Covid-19 support page on the iD Mobile website here, which will be regularly updated to show when these initiatives will go live.
