Currys makes UK tech retail history with all Black Friday deals at their lowest ever price

New research commissioned by Currys lays bare just how little faith shoppers have in Black Friday. Two-thirds (66%) of consumers call the whole event a “con” with a further 62% sceptical about the discounts advertised during the shopping period.

When it comes to Black Friday deals themselves, electronics lead the charge for the product category people expect to have the most misleading discounts. Yet, technology (headphones – 23%, laptop/computers – 18%, TV – 17%), phone – 17% and tablets – 16%) and household appliances (25%) are among some of the most purchased items. This further cements the importance of transparency when it comes to pricing, an issue which Currys are tackling head on to restore consumers’ trust.

It’s a damning verdict on Britain’s biggest shopping moment. However, customers are clear about what would restore their trust. Nearly half (46%) say they’d have more confidence in Black Friday if retailers could guarantee prices were genuinely the lowest ever – a guarantee Currys are hanging their hat on for 2025.

If you buy a product marked “Our Lowest Ever Price” between 29th October – 18th November 2025, and the price drops again before 2nd December 2025, Currys will refund you the difference. To qualify, purchases must be registered by 25th November 2025 at curryspriceguarantee.co.uk.

Refunds will be issued via BACS by Friday 9^th January 2026.
