• iD Mobile and Three sign multi-year extension deal and new commercial agreements
  • Customers will continue to benefit from Three as the UK’s fastest 5G network, as well as a range of competitive value handsets and SIM only deals

17 January 2023 – Today, iD Mobile – Currys’ award-winning mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) – announces that it has agreed a new multi-year extension deal to continue its partnership with Three. The renewed partnership means that iD Mobile customers will continue to benefit from Three as the UK’s fastest 5G network1, as well as their impressive 4G network coverage which spans over 99% of the UK.

The announcement follows news that the network recently hit the milestone of 1.2 million customers; a number which continues to grow. Additionally, iD Mobile recently won two Trusted Review awards at the end of 2022, for Best Value Network and Best Network for Roaming.2

Following its launch in 2015, the year when iD Mobile first partnered with Three, iD quickly became the fastest growing post-pay MVNO in UK history, with its pioneering and innovative propositions such as free Data Rollover, as well as being the first UK MVNO to launch Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE (voice over LTE calling).

As well as being at the forefront of innovation, over the past eight years, iD Mobile has also remained highly competitive with its value offering. As part of its initial launch in 2015, iD introduced new value focused customer propositions, such as setting an adjustable cap on monthly bills. Showcasing the innovation within the company, this feature went on to become legislation within the industry in October 2018, which was three years after iD Mobile addressed the original consumer need. Through the extension of the partnership with Three, iD Mobile will continue to offer new and existing customers great value across their SIM Only and handset package plans and explore opportunities to provide connectivity across wider Currys categories.

“We’re thrilled to have renewed a multi-year deal and new commercial agreements with Three UK. Our partnership means that we can continue to offer customers highly competitive deals and data bundles, as well as the UK’s fastest 5G coverage. Given the current cost-of-living crisis, value is a key focus for our customers, and the partnership will mean that we can continue to offer highly competitive options and remain the ‘home of value’. We continuously strive to ensure that iD Mobile remains at the forefront of innovation, and the first pick of networks when customers are looking to upgrade or switch, and we believe this agreement will be pivotal in supporting this.”

The multi-year contract extension with Three will enable us to continue to offer highly competitive products and deals for customers, all whilst working alongside a leader at the forefront of the 5G revolution. We are excited to continue to expand and grow the iD Mobile brand, with the help of Three.”
