- Products featured include essential everyday tech such as washing machines, tumble dryers and fridge freezers
- Inflation busting savings compared to current prices include £450 off an LG American Side-by-Side Fridge Freezer, £100 off a 10KG Hoover Washing Machine and a £71 saving on a Kenwood Microwave

20th July 2022: Currys, the UK’s leading tech retailer has launched a series of inflation busters to help Brits through the ongoing cost of living crisis. ‘Price Lock’ which goes live on Wednesday 20th July, will give shoppers the essential tech they need at 2021 prices.
To help its customers beat the squeeze, Currys is doubling down on its commitment to keep amazing technology within reach of UK shoppers by keeping prices locked at 2021 prices, across an array of everyday essential tech.
Technology plays an increasingly vital role in UK consumers’ lives and Currys research has found that 68% of Brits depend on technology for their day-to-day living, with the average person spending eight hours a day, using 11 different pieces of tech*. Therefore when an essential piece of tech, such as a cooker or freezer, breaks or needs replacing the impact on both the customer’s pocket and daily life can be significant.
The newly launched Price Lock goes a step beyond Currys’ well-established price promise of customers ‘won’t get it cheaper, full stop’ on all products, giving considerable discounts across over 40 products in 17 categories. Prices will be locked down to their lowest 2021 level, then held down for 30 days, helping customers to make savings that can be put towards other rising living costs. Discounts include:

Says Currys Group CEO, Alex Baldock: “Tech doesn’t know there’s a cost of living crisis going on. If a fridge or oven is going to break, it’s not going to hold on until things improve. If people need a new laptop for school or work, they may not be able to wait. That’s why we at Currys will do all we can to make technology accessible and affordable, even now. We exist to help everybody enjoy amazing technology, and that’s why we’re committing to keep prices down on these essential products that make life easier and more enjoyable.”
Currys’ package of inflation busters includes:
- 12 Month Pay Delay: Buying with flexible credit means customers pay no interest when the full balance is paid within 12 months. The pay delay allows customers to purchase a basket of multiple items that adds up to the value of £99 or more.
- Price Lock: Popular tech locked to Currys’ 2021 lowest price – giving customers inflation-proof choices on the products they need the most.
- Cash for Trash: Money-off vouchers exchanged for old or broken tech, to offset the cost of replacement products
